Community Congregational Church of Short Hills Donates $43,000 to Imani Center

The Bridge received a very generous donation of $43,000 from Community Congregational Church of Short Hills to hire two bilingual parent outreach coordinators for The Bridge’s Imani Center program.  The Imani Center has been tirelessly working with teens at Irvington High School for over two decades.  This program strives to help youth stay in school, graduate, continue their education or gain employment with strong skills.  Working closely with Irvington High School teachers and administration, Imani staff identify students who may be at risk for school failure or substance abuse.  This program is available to students both during the day and after school.  This donation will significantly help the Imani Center engage and educate parents in a more meaningful way by having bilingual Creole- and Spanish-speaking parent outreach coordinators reaching out to them in their native languages.
